Russell Gene Wade was born on January 16, 1938, to Fred and Marie Wade in Fayette, Iowa. He left this world to be with the Lord on March 12, 2018.

Gene was raised in Hayward, WI, and moved to California in the late ‘70s. When he moved to Tehachapi in the ‘90s, he went to work as a prison guard. He loved his job. Gene also loved playing his guitar with his buddies, Clem and Steve.

He met his present wife, Lola Ferris, and they married on May 27, 1992. Gene retired from the prison and she retired from her job, and they started enjoying life and each other. They traveled a lot and enjoyed doing things they both wanted to do in life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and other relatives. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Lola Wade; stepdaughters, Deborah Northcutt and Jamie Malone; daughter, Tammy Olson; stepdaughter, Bonnie Luebke; cousins, Donna Sheehan and Randy Sheehan; grandsons, Seth and Carson Olson, Tom Freng and Carson Freng, TJ Malone; and many more.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018, at Abundant Life Church, Tehachapi, CA.
