ST. GEORGE - Richard Neil Rich passed away after a ling illness on April 8, 2000 at his home in St. George, Utah. Niel was born December 21, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah and raised by his parents John Edward and Roxie Lucille Rich in Sandy, Utah. He married Laurie Garn August 28, 1969 in the Salt Lake Temple and they had six children. He graduated from Jordan High School and then served an LDS Mission to the Eastern States. He later attended Snow College, where he served as a school officer and then Brigham Young University. He received his real estate license and worked as a realtor and project developer for over 25 years before retiring due to health.

Neil volunteered many hours with little league teams of all types and spent many hours as a coach supporting and teaching his sons. He was a great sports enthusiast and his cheering for the Jazz, Braves and Cougars, was something that became contagious to the rest of the family and spanned a legacy of super fans. Of all his accomplishments in his life, Neil was the most proud of his family. He loved his wife, his children and grandchildren and spent the last part of his life making sure each person in his life knew of his love for them.

He showed great strength in facing the health problems of the last few years and left a lasting example that will be remembered and appreciated by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Laurie; sons, Adam (Amber) Rich, St. George; Ryan (Karen) Rich, McKinney, TX; A.J. (Christene) Rich, Provo; Logan Rich, St. George; daughters, Hailey (Jeremy) Savage, Provo; and Alexis Rich, St. George; parents, John an Roxie Rich, Sandy, UT; brother, Robert Rich, Mountain View, CA; sisters, Elaine Peterson, South Jordan, UT; Eileen Rich, South Jordan, UT; grandchildren, Aidan and Addie Rich, St. George and Taylar and Parker Rich, McKinney and his dog, Drexler.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 12 at 11 a.m. at the Bloomington 8th Ward Chapel at 3519 Manzanita Road with a family viewing at 9:30 a.m. Friends may call during a viewing Tuesday evening from 7-8 p.m. at Spilsbury and Beard Mortuary at 110 South Bluff Street, St. George.
