Brian David Newman, age 34, of Patrick Springs passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Roanoke on August 6, 1983. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gary Gene Newman. Brian was homeschooled under the Christian Liberty Academy in Arlington Heights, IL and graduated in the year 2000. He lettered in wrestling and loved all sports. He was a brown belt in karate and his favorite activity was riding Harleys. He had completed an internship at The Eagles Nest in Floyd and was a member of Harvest Worship Center where he committed his heart to the Lord.

Surviving are his parents, James and Teresa “Teri” Gibbs Newman of the home; one brother, Gabriel Newman of the home; maternal grandparents, Jack R. and Ellen Shirlene Gibbs of Patrick Springs; paternal grandmother, Martha Ann Martin of Stuart; uncles and aunts, Jason T. and Tanya Gibbs of Patrick Springs, Michael and Jennifer Newman of Patrick Springs; cousins, Lacey Newman Harbour and husband, Chris(bestfriend), Jessica Newman Hutchens and husband, Patrick, Chris Cobler and wife, Amanda, Courtney Cobler, Britney Reynolds; close friend, Brittany Belcher and husband, Chris; and several other special family members.


A Freedom Service will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Harvest Worship Center at 2:00 PM with Pastor David Coleman officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at any time at the home of his parents, James and Teri Newman, 2174 Spring Rd., Patrick Springs, VA 24133.
