He received a direct commission as a Medical Service Corps Officer in the United States Army. COL(R) Lester's active career spanned 27 years.
After military retirement in 1992, Mike started a second career as a Financial Advisor partnering with American Express IDS, where he served as an Advanced Planner.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, two grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
