Virginia Cleta Bowden Ball, 83, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Universal Health Care. Virginia was born on October 30, 1934 in Stokes County to Arthur Eugene and Cleda Atkins Bowden.
She was a faithful member of Welcome Door Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years and retired from Ilco-Unican. Virginia loved her Lord and Savior and was a loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert Lee Ball, Sr.; and one son, John Arthur Ball.
Surviving are her daughter, Vivian Ball; one son, Robert Lee Ball, Jr. (Lisa); five grandchildren, Danna Bowling (James), Laura Huffman (Ronald), Kayla Van Steenkiste (Tyler), Travis Ball and Rusty Ball; and six great grandchildren, MacKenzie Bowling, Logan Bowling, Hayleigh Huffman, Ronald Huffman, Brayden Van Steenkiste, and Noah Van Steenkiste; one brother, Rev. Jimmy Bowden (Virginia); one sister, Nancy Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Danny Hemric officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening, March 15, at the funeral home.
