Marvin Simmons, age 96, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the Richard Campbell VA Home in Anderson, South Carolina.

He was born in Saluda County and was a son of the late Henry Arthur Simmons, Sr. and Julia Ella Hazel Simmons.

Mr. Simmons was the owner and operator of Marvin Simmons Contractor.

He was also a former Deacon and served on the Building Committee member of Davidson Street Baptist Church.

He was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII, a member of the American Legion Post 25.

He is survived by his three sons, Larry Simmons of Spartanburg, Jimmy Simmons of Waterloo, Tony Simmons of Cross Hill; his daughter, Debbie Clevenger of Clinton; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11 AM at Rosemont Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Davidson Street Baptist Church, 400 Davidson Street, Clinton, SC 29325
