Marion Louise DeFazio, 73, of Pompano Beach, Fla., died Friday at Holy Cross Hospital, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank DeFazio, on Aug. 16, 2002.

Born Dec. 11, 1944, in Carbondale, daughter of Margaret Lilje McClelland Levine of Pompano Beach and the late David McClelland, she was a graduate of Carbondale public schools and had been employed in the banking industry in Florida before her retirement. She and her husband resided in North Plainfield, N.J., for many years before moving to Pompano Beach. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and friends.

She is survived by her children, David Fenton and wife, Wendy, McKeesport; James Fenton and wife, Jennifer, Sunrise, Fla.; Bernard DeFazio and wife, Lee, North Plainfield, N.J.; and Kathy Kuchta and husband, John, Warren, N.J.; her grandchildren, Donny, Daniel, Amanda, Joey, Gina, Francis, Anthony, Stephanie, Melissa and John Francis; sister, Donna MacKenzie, New Milford, Conn.; her companion of 11 years, Walter Kretz, Pompano Beach; and Niagara Falls, Canada; nieces, Melanie MacKenzie Shapiro and Amanda MacKenzie, both of Brookfield, Conn.; six great-nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Anthony DeFazio; and a nephew, Matthew MacKenzie.

A funeral service will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. at Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 89 Farview St., Carbondale, with Pastor Bonnie Resseguie, officiating. Spring interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford.
