Robert Hershey Jeffries, Jr., 73, of Marion Center, died Monday, March 12, 2018, at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.

He was born in 1944 in Punxsutawney to Robert H. and Helen Bracken Jeffries.

Mr. Jeffries was an active member of the Marion Center First United Methodist Church, where he served in various capacities throughout the years.

He was also a life-time member of the Indiana Historical and Genealogical Society, the Keystone Elk Country Alliance and the PennDOT Retirees Golf Club.

He was employed by PennDOT for 36 years. He was also an agent for Patrons Mutual Insurance Co. for many years.
Bob enjoyed spending time on the Allegheny River boating with his family and friends. He also enjoyed genealogy, golfing, hunting, wood working and especially tinkering. Along with his father and sons, they built the existing family home in Marion Center.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra M. Vite Jeffries, Marion Center; one daughter and two sons, Dawn Rene' Hunter and husband Craig, Canonsburg, Erich M. Jeffries and wife Amy, Moon Township, and Jason M. Jeffries and wife Lanny, Monument, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Olivia, Catheryn and Audrey Hunter, and Devin, Clay, Luke and Eden Jeffries; one brother and three sisters, Diane Means and husband Don, DuBois, Karen Todd and husband David, Pittsburgh, Paul Jeffries and wife Leslie, Clearfield, and Colleen Jeffries, Punxsutawney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Clay Bryson Jeffries.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. Friends will also be received on Thursday from10 to 11 a.m. at the Marion Center First United Methodist Church, where a funeral service will begin at 11 a.m.
Interment will be made in the Union Hill Church Cemetery, Rossiter.
