Tom was born on August 26, 1955 in Pasadena, Texas to the late Bill and Quita (Smith) Bone. The family moved to Waco, and he graduated from University High, and attended Texas State Technical Institute. Tom proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, and had retired from TXDOT as a surveyor in 2012. Tom was a past master of Wichita Falls Masonic Lodge #635, and Megargel Lodge. He was also a member of Iowa Park Masonic Lodge #713, and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. Tom was a past president of the Red River Rifle Association, and an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly. Tom also loved his country, and would only buy American made. He was the kind of man that would be there at the drop of a hat if you needed him. Tom will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandpa. He would talk about his family so much that you felt like you knew them without ever meeting them. He had a smile that infectious and a heart the size of Texas. He never stopped believing that his kids could make a difference in this world.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Pamela of Wichita Falls; son Tommy Cole Jr. and wife Kristen of Frisco; daughter Amanda Dorsey and husband Kane of Wichita Falls; grandchildren Cole Dorsey, Camden Cole, Kate Cole, and Cooper Dee Dorsey; sister Donna Thorne of Waco; brother Buck Cole and wife Carole of Austin; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Tom’s name to Iowa Park Masonic Lodge, 700 W Washington Ave, Iowa Park, TX 76367.
