Frank Lee Cain, 89, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away peacefully Sunday, March 11, 2018 at his home in Duncan. He was born on July 4, 1928 in Welling, Oklahoma to Floyd Edmond Cain and Cosy Leota (Calico) Cain.
He graduated high school from Cave Springs High School in Bunch, Oklahoma in 1946. He also attended Northeastern State University and Cameron University. Frank joined the United States Army in 1947 and retired honorably in 1969 with twenty two years of service worldwide.
Frank would marry the love of his life Patsy Ruth Dandridge on February 4, 1950 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. After his retirement from the Army in 1969, Frank worked in the Lawton Public Schools system as the ROTC supply officer until 1988. He also, for twenty four years worked as a farmer and rancher in the Empire area.
Frank was an avid golfer and an Oklahoma history buff. He enjoyed restoring his 1964 Chevy Truck for which he won many awards and trophies at the local car shows.
He was a member of the New Life Church in Duncan.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Patsy Ruth Cain of the home; his sons, Michael Lee Cain and his wife Jackie Cain of Alexandria, Virginia, Dr. Bryan Lynn Cain and his wife Kathryn Cain of Lawton, Oklahoma, his daughters, Diana Ruth Maguffee and her husband Major Michael Maguffee of Bixby, Oklahoma and Anita Lucille Cauthon and her husband Dr. John Kean Cauthon; his brothers, Andrew Cain of Stilwell, Oklahoma and Gary Cain and his wife Donna Cain of Fuquay- Virina, North Carolina; his sister, Sue Johnson and her husband Cecil Johnson of College Station, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded by his parents; and five brothers, Flo Edward Cain, Bill Cain, Bob Cain, Clyde Cain, Carl Cain; and a sister, Wilma Eubanks.
Funeral services will be held at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 15 at 12:00 PM with Pastor William Moore officiating, assisted by T. J. Scrapper.
