Hazel “Toot” Wes Brown Hart, 90, of Charles Town, passed away Sunday March 11, 2018, while surrounded by her loving family. Hazel was born February 4, 1928, in Charles Town, to the late Emily Nancy Russ and Clarence Brown.
She was of Christian faith and a member of Wainwright Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and the matriarch of six living generations. Toot will be remembered for her laughter, dancing, heavy pocketbooks, and famous mac and cheese.
She is survived by three daughters; Dorothy Brown, of Martinsburg, Augustine Strother and Anna “Buck” Corum, and husband Maurice; and her only sister and best friend, Nancy L. Jones, all of Charles Town; 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 40 great great grandchildren, and 2 great great great grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her husband of 50 years Mike Hart; one son, Augustus Brown and one daughter Vetta Stubbs.
Services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018, 12:00 pm at Wainwright Baptist Church, 413 W Avis St, Charles Town, 25414, with the Rev. Walter A. Jackson, III officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant View Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
