Dr. Ralph Pike Querry, DDS (Retired), 91

Ralph passed from this world on January 27th 2018. He now sits at the thrones of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ.

Ralph was born on October 15, 1926 in Rensselaer, Indiana son of Guilford and Effie Louise (Pike) Querry (preceding him in death) of Medaryville, Indiana.

He served with United States Navy as a radio operator from 1945-1946, Pacific Theatre of Operations being stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and Guam.

He married Barbara Lee Gottschalk from Bunker Hill on June 17, 1951 and celebrated 66 years of marriage in 2017. They have four childern, Mark Alan (Cheryl), Kent Douglas (Sharon), Kevin Dale (preceded him in death) and Janice Lynette (Tom) McNab. He has eight grandchildren, Michael (Marla Achor) Querry, Trista Calhoun, Ian (Alicia) Querry, Elise Honeycutt, Dustin (Meghan) McNab, Sean (Caitlin) McNab, Spenser Querry and Allison Querry. He was also blessed with seven great grandchildren.

Ralph graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Indiana University, Bloomington and Indianapolis, in 1952 and practiced general dentistry in Fowler, Indiana, from 1952- 1991.

He was also a member of the Indiana University Alumni Association and a huge supportor of the IU football and basketball teams.

He and Barbara moved to Indianapolis upon his retirement and became involved at St Lukes United Methodist Church serving on numerous committees, volunteer efforts and active at Fletcher Place Community Center.

They loved to travel the world and saw all fifty US states, Western Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. He enjoyed his daily crossword puzzles from the newspaper and was an avid reader of the Wall Street Journal. He enjoyed cross-stich and made some amazing Santa Claus works for each of his children and grandchildren. When he got the chance, he loved to rock babies. He was well versed in using a computer, and excited about any new technology and was on the computer almost every day keeping up on the world and facebook activities.

He was an amazing Son, Husband, Father, Uncle, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. Papa will be missed by all.

Visitation will be held at St Luke’s United Methodist Church 100 W 86th Street Indianapolis, IN 46260 on Friday February 2, 2018 from 11-1 with services immediately following.

We asked that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to Fletcher Place Community Center at 1637 Prospect Street, Indianapolis, IN 46203.
