Andrea Gail Johnson, 48, Kiel, WI, passed away at Sharon Richardson Hospice, on Tuesday, February 27th 2018 after a long struggle with a brain tumor.
Andrea was born in Milwaukee on August 10, 1969. She was a Mounds View High School graduate, New Brighton, MN and continued her education obtaining a dual degree in Elementary and Special Education at Augustana College, Sioux, Falls, SD. Andrea was a Teacher of the hearing impaired in Fairmont, MN and Waseca MN. She continued teaching special needs students in the Elmbrook School District, Brookfield, WI as well as short contracts in Milwaukee and Mequon, WI. Andrea then stayed home to raise her son, Wade, to whom she was very attentive, teaching and preparing him for life's needs and challenges. Andrea enjoyed quilting and scrapbooking.
Andrea is survived by her partner, Fred Kuhn, their son, Wade, parents, Arlyce and Craig Johnson of New Brighton, MN, brother, Brian (Kim) Johnson, and nephew, Teague of Richfield, MN. Preceding her in death were Fred's parents, Roland and Eleanor Kuhn, Elkhart Lake, and her Black Cat, Cleopatra.
A memorial service for Andrea will be held on Tuesday, March 6th at 7:00 PM at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home (815 6th Street, Kiel,WI); officiating at the service will be Pastor Jack Stimmel.
Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
