Frank Ambler Baldwin was born in America, but left at the age of 10 for Morocco with his family. The family operated a medical mission there. He received some education in England. Then family moved to Syria, then to the mountains of Lebanon, then to Beirut.

From Lebanon, Frank returned to America, earning a business degree at South Jersey Institute. After graduating, Frank settled in Westchester County, New York. In 1902, he married Mary Ellen "Mamie" Crawford of Yonkers whose family owned a busy carpet business there.

Baldwin spent the rest of his life as superintendent of the brand new turn-of-the-century electric companies in Westchester County, including those of White Plains and Mount Kisco. On more than one occasion, Frank Baldwin personally saved the day tending to fallen electric lines.

He was the master of the Nepperhan Lodge No. 736, Free and Accepted Masons in Yonkers, New York, and was also active with charitable organizations, such as the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

Frank died young at the age of 39. He and Mamie had no surviving children.
