Linda Michelle Stroud, 62, longtime resident of Mount Vernon, WA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 10, 2018. She passed away unexpectedly.

Linda was born on March 12, 1955 in Longview, WA to Agnes Kopp. She grew up in Longview with her sister Debbie (Smith) Karjola. Linda graduated from Mark Morris High School in 1973 and became one flesh with Matthew Stroud on January 25, 1974.

Early in their marriage, she was a homemaker and supported her husband in his contracting career. In the first several years of their marriage, Matt and Linda welcomed their three children; Melinda, Rachel and Jacob. Matt and Linda were involved in various church ministries including ministering to street kids and Awana.

In 1992 they relocated to Mount Vernon, WA where they joined Emmanuel Baptist Church. They were actively involved in various ministries and she faithfully worked behind the scenes supporting her husband in their dedicated service to Christ. Linda also began her career at CorVel in 1992 and continued working there until her passing.

Linda is survived by her husband of 44 years, Matthew, her children Melinda Boon (Steve), Rachel Faber (Aaron) and Jacob Stroud (Amy). She is also survived by her eight grandchildren; Caleb, Megan and Jordan Boon, Kailey and Colby Faber along with Ashlyn, Olivia and Brody Stroud. She is also survived by her mother Agnes Kopp and her sister Debbie (Gary) Karjola. Linda is also survived by a large extended family which includes many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her brother Jeff Smith, her dad Ernie, her father in law, Theodore Stroud, her mother in law, Alyce Stroud and her brother in law, Mark Stroud.

There will be a private graveside service for immediate family at Hawthorne Memorial Park, Mount Vernon. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 17th, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1515 E. College Way in Mount Vernon, WA, with a reception following.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions be made to either Pregnancy Choices or the Biblical Counseling Ministry at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
