Marvin T. Pennington, 89, passed away January 19, 2012, after an extended illness. He was born September 11, 1922, in Lamar County, Alabama. He met Lucille Baswell in Columbus, MS in 1941. They were married there in 1943. They moved to the Wenatchee Valley in 1948. Marvin, known as "Penny", worked in the propane gas business for 28 years, including Western Gas & Power and UniGas. He retired from Petrolane Gas in Olympia in 1978. His favorite pastimes were going fishing and going camping with Appleland Good Sams.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a sister. Marvin is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lucille Pennington; son, Bob (Paula) Pennington of Coulee City; daughter, Joyce (Roger) Maxson of Vancouver, WA; granddaughter, Tammy and great-grandson, Jacob; grandson, Rob and great-grandson, Ryan; and grandson, Neil; also granddaughters, Jo and three sons; Sandy and two daughters; and Susie and two daughters. He had a special cousin, Penny Bartauck of Alabama; and a special niece, Barb "BJ" Herron of East Wenatchee.
At his request, there will No Service. There will be a Celebration of his Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to your favorite charity in his name. Arrangements by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
