Lou Viller Cox, 68, died Monday, January 11, 1977, at Taylor County Hospital. She was a native of Taylor County born here July 9, 1907, the daughter of the late Berry and Margaret Bright Garrett. Mrs. Cox made her home at 608 South Central Avenue. Mrs. Cox was a member of the Holiness Church. Survivors include her husband, Delbert Cox; three sons: Kirmet Cox and Berry Cox, both of Route 6, Campbellsville, and Olvin Cox of Campbellsville; four daughters: Valta Liveay of Campbellsville, Lillie Bland and Floy Marpes of Route 6, Campbellsville, and Josie Morrison of Louisville; two brothers: Tom Garrett of Marion County and Lee Garrett of Campbellsville; two sisters: Bessie Tungate of Campbellsville and Viola Cox of Campbellsville; 42 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Four children, Murrell Cox, Shirley Cox, Della Josephine Cox, and Elmer Louis Cox preceded their mother in death. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 13, [1977] at the Jones Chapel Church with Elder Herbert Martin officiating, assisted by Rev. Harold Squires. Lyon Funeral Home was in charge of services. Interment followed in the Jones Chapel Cemetery.
