Ruby Irene Reed, age 89, of Peoria, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Fondulac Rehabilitation in East Peoria.
Ruby was born on August 30, 1928 in New Boston, MO to Ira Everett and Anna Elizabeth (Pitts) Wood. She married Frank B. Reed on May 8, 1948 in Peoria and he preceded her in death on April 15, 2006. Also preceding her in death are one son, David; her parents; and eight siblings.
Surviving are her children, Bob Reed of East Peoria, IL, Karen (Scott) James of East Peoria, IL and Don (Debbie) Reed of Germantown Hills, IL; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and her sister, Wava White of East Peoria, IL.
Ruby was the Library Manager for District 150 for 20 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria as well as the Bells of Harmony. She was a phenomenal baker and love to line dance.
Services will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 10am at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 5pm to 7pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
