Putman, Barbara R. passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, she was 94 years old.
Barbara was born in Ann Arbor, MI on January 31, 1924 the daughter of Rudolph and Lucy (nee' Jedele) Vogel.
Barbara was a life-long resident of Ann Arbor and a graduate of Ann Arbor High School. Barbara was a long time member at Zion Lutheran Church. She married Ben Putman, he is left to cherish her memory.
Barbara loved golf and enjoyed long walks, often trying for 4 miles a day. She was a librarian at Ann Arbor Public Library for 20 years, a job she enjoyed enormously. As well as Ben,
Barbara is survived by her son; David B. (Joann Crescio), grandson; Brett (Maureen), great grandson; Jameson, nieces and nephews; Jim (Marge) Hopper, Diane Hopper, Laurie (Gerald) Stegenga, Beth (Robert) Newman, and many other family and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter; Julie Ann, sisters; Mary Vogel, Helen Vogel, Betty Hopper, and her brother; Bill Vogel.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel (403 S Fourth Ave., Ann Arbor) on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church (1501 W Liberty St., Ann Arbor). Her remains will be buried at Washtenong Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's name to Zion Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
