Jerry Turner Sharp

Mr. Jerry Turner Sharp passed peacefully on March 3, 2018 at his home in Hitchcock, Texas.

Born May 16, 1937 in Crockett, TX.

He graduated from Kountze High School in 1955. He married and had four children. He was drafted into the Army in 1960, stationed in Ft. Polk, LA where he served until he was honorably discharged in 1962.

He raised his kids in Santa Fe, TX and worked as a machinist for McGill's Maintenance. He and Evelyn married on June 30, 1990 and shortly thereafter retired on the water in Hitchcock, TX.

Jerry will be remembered as a kind-hearted man with a knack for tinkering with small engines. He loved tending to his yard, garage sales, fishing, jigsaw puzzles, but most of all his family. He was well loved and will be missed by so many.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Turner Sharp; mother, Eiliene (Carter) Sharp; sister, Jean (Sharp) Anderson and son, Jason Sharp.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn Sharp; sons, Shannon Sharp and wife, Lea, Chase Sharp and wife, Tracy; daughter, Bambi Sharp; granddaughters, Kate Huddleston and Chloe Rivera; sister and brother-in law, Bea and Paul Duce; stepson Ray Bordelon, Jr.; stepdaughter, Tina Guay and many other loved ones.

Visitation will be 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with a service at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Jerry would want anyone who is able to do something for someone in need.
