Ossie V. Tate-Moore was born Dec. 25, 1920 in Marvell, Arkansas to the late Rufus and Rebecca Tate. She was the six child of eight children born to this union. She was raised in the Marvell community and went to Marvell school. She came to Christ at an early age at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Taylor.

Ossie was united in matrimony to the late Humphrey James Moore. To the union twelve children were born. Humphrey and Ossie were a hard working couple and provided well for their family. Ossie started working outside the home later in life. She worked at Crestpark nursing home in Helena, Arkansas until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Humphrey Moore, her sons, Lewis Charles Moore, Theodore Moore, and Alvin Willis Moore and a daughter, Gwendolyn Moore Jordan, her siblings, Annie Rose Tate Johnson, Emma Tate Davis, Rollin Tate, Albert Tate, Millie Tate Houston, and Rufus Tate, Jr.

Ossie is survived by eight children, Gearldine Sumpter of Poplar Grove, Arkansas, Oscar J. Moore(Cora), Donnell Moore (Lillie), both of St. Louis, Missouri, Gladys Marie Lamon (Leotis) of Memphis, Tennessee, Frances A. Thomas (Eddie) of Lexa, Arkansas, Humphrey Moore, Jr. (Earlene) of St. Louis, Missouri, Patricia Ann Hamilton of Kansas City, Missouri, Jeffrey Lynn Moore (Devora) of Memphis, Tennessee and an adopted daughter, Doris Moore Gant of Memphis, Tennessee, a devoted daughter-in-law, Aretha Moore of St. Louis, Missouri, a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a sister, Charity Scott(Willie J.) of Detroit, Michigan, a special nephew, Sherman Tate of Little Rock, Arkansas, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
