Springfield, Mo., resident Lona Arwood, 93, died Friday, March 30, at Cox South after a short illness.

She was born Sept. 17, 1913, in Meeker to William and Della White Flowers.

Lona was married March 10, 1935, in Meeker to Howard Arwood.

She was a homemaker and a member of High Street Baptist in Springfield. She delivered Meals on Wheels and volunteered at Primrose Place. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed doing needlework.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, William and Effie Arwood of Springfiled, and Jane and Don Hotsenpiller of Virginia; grandchildren, Leslie, Malinda and Bill Arwood all of Texas, Greg and Susan Hotsenpillar and Gina and Scott Hoffman of Virgina; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 at Greenlawn North Funeral Home, Springfield.

Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Greenlawn North Funeral Home, Springfield. A second service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Morning Star Baptist Church, Meeker. Burial will be at Rossville Cemetery, Lincoln County.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to High Street Baptist Church.
