Sheboygan Falls - Charlotte Ann Stevens, 84, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Pine Haven Christian Home.
Char was born on September 24, 1933, in the town of Scott to Leonard and Beatrice (Goll) McCue. She was a 1951 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. On June 7, 1952 , Char married the love of her life, Allen Stevens, and together they had three children.Char and Allen owned and operated Allen's Janitorial Service. After enduring the loss of her husband on March 21, 1982, Char relied on her family, her strong faith in God and her love and laughter to move forward. Char was a dedicated mother and grandmother who created unforgettably wonderful memories that will be cherished by her family and friends, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Either she was laughing at us or we were laughing at her with the many "events" that took place while spending time together. Her positive outlook and sense of humor remained with her up until the end.
Char was a member of St. Peter Episcopal Church in Sheboygan Falls, where she served on the Ladies Guild. She was also a Campfire Girls Leader, a member of the Red Hat Society, the Q-Tips and on a bowling league. Char enjoyed taking bus trips, having coffee at local restaurants, collecting angels, the family's annual cookie making and especially spending time with her family and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
One of the nicest things someone said about our mom was, " if you couldn't get along with Char, you have a problem". We knew it and we were happy to share her with the world. If you would like to honor our mom/grandma, do something nice to someone in need and keep on laughing! It breaks our heart to lose her, but know she did not go alone. For part of us went with her when God called her home.
Char is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Paul) Marti of Oostburg, and Linda (Ed) Gregoire of Sheboygan Falls; one son, Mark (Sue) Stevens of Sheboygan Falls; eight grandchildren, Paul (Katie) Marti, Chad (Emily) Marti, Craig (Kathy) Marti, Stacy Stevens, Theresa (Chris) Korff, Jamie (Eric) Fait, Kristin (Andy) Kohlhagen, and Lindsay (Josh) Zimmerman; eighteen great-grandchildren, Julia, Jack, Abby, Max, Stella, Aubrey, Parker, Brooklyn, Hunter, Chase, Carter, Eli, Gavin, Miles, Colt, Case, Keona and Layla; two sisters, Janet (Ernie) Carlson, and Sandra (Bob) Peterson; two brothers-in-law, Jim (Sonya) Stevens, and Mike Kraft; and three sisters-in-law, Kathy Schreiber, Toni Kraft, and Mary Stevens;
Char was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen Stevens; one brother, Clyde McCue; one sister, Thelma Brockman; three brothers-in-law, Michael Schreiber, Robert Stevens, and Tom Stevens;
A funeral service to celebrate Char's life will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018, at 11am at St. Peter Episcopal Church in Sheboygan Falls, with Fr. John Throop officiating. A burial will take place at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
