Karen K. Wenzel, 75, of Eau Claire, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Dove Healthcare Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls.

She was born September 7, 1942, in La Crosse, WI, the daughter of Clifford and Gertrude (Hagen) Dikeman. She graduated from La Crosse Logan High School. In 1964 she married the love of her life, Ken Wenzel and had 47 wonderful years together before he passed away in 2011.

Throughout her life, Karen worked as a secretary in various business. She spent many years working as a surgical secretary for HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital.

Karen enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling, and motorcycling with her husband Ken. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Karen is survived by her two children, Christine (Nolan) Beenken of Augusta, and Michael Wenzel of Eau Claire; four grandchildren, Kelly, Jordan, Mitchell, and Hannah; and two great-grandchildren, Bentlee and Austyn-Kennedy.

Private burial will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington.

The family would like to thank the staff of both Heartland Hospice and Dove Healthcare – Rutledge Home for the wonderful love and care given to Karen.
