Stanley W. Stewart, 93, of Hershey, PA passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2018 surrounded by his family. Stan was born on July 30, 1924 to Joseph and Esther Stewart.

Surviving Stan are his wife of 70 years, Marie (D'Ambrosio) Stewart, sister Jacqueline (John) Walters, and daughters Stephanie (Ellis) Grossnickle and Sharon Kulina. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Stewart (Theresa), Christopher and Patrick Kulina, Kristen (Keith) Ritchey, Nathan (Audra) and Kathryn Grossnickle, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Bob and Jacque, sister Kathleen, and great-grandson Jackson.

Stan graduated from Hershey High School in 1942 and attended Hershey Junior College before enlisting in the United States Marines and serving in World War II where he received a Presidential Group Citation for bravery during the shelling of the Bougainville Airfields. Upon returning from the war, Stan and Marie owned and operated the East End Restaurant in Hummelstown for over 50 years where he could often be found behind the bar entertaining patrons.

Stan was a great joke teller and loved sharing stories of crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay and traveling around the world. He enjoyed putting up American flags in Hummelstown and Fort Indiantown Gap during the holidays and was always available to lend a hand to someone in need.
