Joshua David Ellis, age 38, of Pigeon Forge, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at U. T. Medical Center. He was born July 30, 1979 in Philippi, West Virginia, the son of Dale Edwin Ellis and Patricia Ann Bell Ellis. Joshua was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Statesville, NC. He was a theater technician for the Smoky Mountain Opry Theater in Pigeon Forge, a job he loved. His passion was theater, acting, television, movies and commercials.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Betty Ellis and maternal grandparents, Baxter and Reba Bell. In addition to his parents, he is survived by Fiancé, Amanda Sullivan of Pigeon, Forge; Brother, Justin Ellis and wife Shelia of Hickory, NC; Sister, Terra Prince and husband Shane of Denver, NC; Paternal grandfather, William Ray Ellis of Oliver Springs; and
Numerous extended family. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 10am – 12pm at Central Baptist Church. The funeral will begin at 12pm with his father, Rev. Dale Ellis and uncle, Rev. Glenn Ellis and cousin, Rev. David Strunk officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Weatherford Mortuary.
