Rebecca A. Cummins, age 75, of Mattoon passed away at 3:40 p.m. on Friday March 9, 2018 at Odd Fellow Rebekah Home.
Funeral services honoring her life will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Schilling Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Duey officiating. Burial will follow at Embarrass Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Becky was born on July 4, 1942 in Kansas, IL the daughter of William Paul and Edna (Harmon) Cummins.
Survivors include her sisters, Connie Lotts of Mattoon, IL, Sheri (Jack) Priest of Mattoon, IL; nephew, Steve (Amy) Cummins of Marietta, GA; nieces, Lisa (Dave) Munisteri of Cartersville, GA and Megan (Brady) Lotts of New Brunswick, NJ. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jim Cummins.
Becky started college at the age of 35, graduating from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. While living there, she served on a council for independent living. She was an avid Fighting Illini Basketball fan. Becky lived at Fellowship Center for 12 years and had many great friends. She had a special place in her heart for those who cared for her at Fellowship Center and Odd-Fellow Rebekah Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her honor are suggested to Odd Fellow Activity Department.
