Sonya Renae Smith was born on August 13, 1974 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Larry and Sabra (Harman) McGlothlin. She passed from this life surrounded by her family on March 9, 2018 in Oklahoma City at the young age of 43 years, 6 months, and 24 days.Sonya was raised on the McGlothlin family farm near Spring Creek Lake. Countless hours were spent with her dear brother, Monte, and cousins roaming the red hills, riding 3 wheelers, playing in the Washita River and boating at Thelma's Lake. Sonya attended Crawford School through 8th grade then finished her schooling at Cheyenne High School. In 1991, Sonya married Perry Duke and to this marriage two children were born, Jessica Steele and Kuley Lane Duke. They raised these two precious children within a few miles of Sonya's home place. In 1999, Sonya married the love of her life, Justin Smith, and gained another daughter, Kylee. Sonya and Justin were soon blessed with a son, Logan Eric, and a daughter, McKenna Nikole. Sonya loved to support her husband, the teams he coaches, and all of her children's various sports and activities. She loved getting her family together for fish frys and beating anyone who was brave enough to play marbles with her. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Oran and Virginia McGlothlin, maternal grandparents, Brown and Roberta Harman, and some very special aunts and uncles. Sonya is survived by her husband, Justin; son, Logan, age 16 and daughter, McKenna, age 14 of Red Rock, Oklahoma, daughter, Jessica Duke and Boone of Gotebo, Oklahoma, son, Kuley Duke and Ragan of Durham, Oklahoma, daughter, Kylee Sawatzky and husband, Kale, of Weatherford, Oklahoma, 1 very special granddaughter, Kenzli Ryan New, age 6, 1 grandson, Steel Sawatzky, and one granddaughter on the way. She is also survived by her loving parents, Larry and Sabra McGlothlin of Durham, Oklahoma, her younger brother, Monte McGlothlin and wife, Cassie, of Crawford, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews, multiple cousins, and numerous family and friends.
