Cynthia Adele Barker - Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Cindy Barker passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018, and is now without pain and home with her Lord. She lost her courageous battle with cancer while under the wonderful hospice care at Palm Beach Medical Center. She was born on February 8, 1966, and is survived by her parents Charles and Susan Barker, her brother Mark Barker, the love of her life her daughter Lexie Barker, her partner Lourdes Sing Gin, her loving and extended family the Harris family, and her best friend Tina Fox.

Some of her fondest moments were playing goalie with her teammates for the Cox High School Field Hockey Team in Virginia Beach back in the 80s. Together, the team won multiple state championships. She will be missed more than words can express, but she is finally at peace.

The family will hold a private service at Princess Anne Memorial Gardens on Great Neck Road in Virginia Beach on Saturday, March 17th at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Cindy's honor to "Young Hearts for Homeless," a 501c3 founded by her then 6th-grade daughter Lexie after watching a program about homeless children. She stated then, and continues to believe that "it's not kids' fault they are homeless."

Contributions may be sent to: Young Hearts for Homeless, c/o Grace Mendoza, 4949 Virginia Beach Boulevard, Virginia Beach, VA 23462
