Ricky worked in the Maintenance Department for Yorktown Community Schools for 20 years before retiring in 2014. He enjoyed playing softball in his younger days, riding his Harley Davidson and tinkering with anything that had a motor. Ricky was loved by everyone that knew him, he never met a stranger, but most of all he loved his family, especially his baby girl, Amanda. Ricky had a smile that could light up a room and it is that smile that will forever be cherished by his family.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Amanda Link (husband-David), Eaton; three brothers, Randy Hammond (wife-Vicky), Muncie; Jim Conatser (wife-Rose), Muncie; Rocky Hammond, Jamestown, KY; two sisters, Brenda Hammond, Jamestown, KY; and Dorothy Overby, Jamestown, KY; his significant other, Sue Raines, Muncie; four grandchildren, Lacey (fiancé-Adam Pence), David II, Jordan, and Peyton Link; two great-grandchildren, Cooper and Mia Pence; best friend and neighbor, Mikey; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Treva Hammond; brother, Fred Hammond; and an infant sister.
A memorial service will be held at Parson Mortuary at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2018.
Calling will be at the mortuary from 11:00 a.m. on Monday until the time of servi
