A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette for Javis J. Bouillion, 79, who passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017, at his residence in Lafayette.

Visitation will be observed on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and resumes Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 8:30 am until the time of service, at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette.

A rosary will be recited Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at 7:00 pm at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette.

Interment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette.

Reverend Father Howard J. Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, will officiate.

Javis was born February 3, 1938, in Erath and was a long-time resident of Acadiana. A proud veteran, Javis served in the United States Army. He was a banker, as well as a realtor and notary public. Javis was an active parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette.

Javis loved going to Red Lerille's Health Club. He enjoyed spending time at Fontana Center, playing pickle ball and participating in yoga. Javis was an avid traveler. Most of all, Javis was the best dad and father anyone in this world could ever ask for!

Javis is survived by his son, David Bouillion of New Iberia; two daughters, Lisa Bouillion of Lafayette and Becky Bouillion Schexnaider and her husband, Dr. Kerry Schexnaider of Maurice; his sister, Eula Ann LeBlanc of Abbeville; his brother, Olan Bouillion and his wife, Jane Bouillion of Milton and numerous dear nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gale Hebert Bouillion; his parents, Edie Joseph and Rosy Aucoin Bouillion; a sister, Lou Bouillion Gaspard and two brothers, Aldon and Ludwest Bouillion.

Pallbearers will be his son, David Bouillion, Jude Dugas, Dr. Kerry Schexnaider, Johnathan Hebert and Sleighton Hebert.

Honorary Bearer is Larry Whatley.

Fountain Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1010 Pandora Street, 337-981-7098 is in charge of arrangements.
