Samuel Sanders, Sr. was born on May 20, 1930 in Oneida, AR to McKenneth Lewis and Angel Green.

Samuel confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. He attended Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a faithful usher until his health began to fail.

Samuel was a loving husband and father. He was a committed and dedicated hard worker for the United States Corp of Engineers for over fifty years.

He transitioned on May 18, 2016 to be with the Lord. Samuel is preceded in death by his father, McKenneth Lewis, his mother, Angel Green, his beloved wife, Izzie Mae Banks-Sanders, a daughter, Listine Sanders, and a brother, Joe Nathan Sanders.

Samuel leaves to cherish his memories; his loving children, Ozzie Washington Atkins of Harvey, IL., Azzie (Elder Melvin)Vinson of South Holland, IL., Linda Sheppard of Oneida, AR, Johnnnie Mae Watkins of Harvey, IL., Diann Denise Bell of Little Rock, AR., James Sanders of Oneida, IL., Samuel(Deloris)Sanders, Jr. of Oneida, AR., Kenneth(Katonya)Sanders of Oneida, AR., a brother, Eddie Woods, Sr., of Barton, AR, two sisters-in-law, Lavarn(Jona)Scott of West Helena, AR., Annie Lou Wayfield of Chicago, IL., twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
