OBITUARY

Greg Hughes, 53, of Bryant passed away on February 16th with his family by his side. Greg was born in Malvern, Arkansas on January 26, 1965. He attended school at Bismarck where he met his wife Lynn. Greg and Lynn became high school sweethearts their senior year and married after Greg graduated college. Greg and Lynn were married for 31 years but their relationship was more than just husband and wife, they were best friends. Through the many highs and lows during their life together Greg was always the rock for his family. His love for Lynn, his daughters Taylor and Allison was seen by everyone that knew him. He always put his family needs and wants above his. Whether it was the family vacations or going out to eat Greg always said “whatever you guys want”.

Some of the most cherished memories by the family are Greg’s coaching of his daughter’s basketball team and soccer team. Greg loved basketball but through his daughters love of soccer he became a true fan. During the last Women’s World Cup in Canada Greg planned a family vacation so his daughters could attend one of US Women’s soccer games. Sadly, it was the last family vacation but one that will be remembered for a lifetime.

Greg is survived by his wife Lynn Hughes of Bryant; daughters Taylor Hughes and Allison Hughes both of Bryant; mother Margie Ann Hughes of Bismarck; father Clement Wayne Hughes and stepmom Kay Hughes of Bismarck; sister Angie Wasson and husband Craig of Bismarck; sister Tammy Hughes of Bismarck; niece Amber Hudson and husband Glen of Little Rock; niece April Lim and husband Paolo of Little Rock; and niece Holly Baker and husband Brian of Bismarck.

A celebration service of Greg’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday February 20th at Dial and Dudley Funeral Chapel. Pastor Greg Kirksey will be officiating. Burial will follow at New Bismarck Cemetery in Bismarck. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
