Billy Howell, 86, of Pacolet, SC, died Thursday, March 8, 2018, at The Inverness at Spartanburg. Born November 8, 1931, in Pacolet Mills, SC, he was the son of the late Lat Howell and Allene Hodge Howell and husband of the late Betty Jo Cook Howell.

A U. S. Air Force veteran and airplane mechanic, Mr. Howell retired from the military after 20 years of service. He was a member of Pacolet Mills Baptist Church, the Pacolet Lions Club, and an avid fisherman.

Surviving are his brother, Jack Howell (Dorothy) of Summerville, SC; nieces, Christy Howell Guyton (Bobby) of Pacolet, SC; nephew, David Howell (Sherry) of Pacolet, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by brothers, Jimmy Howell and Tom Howell.

Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Pacolet Mills Baptist Church, 385 Stone St., Pacolet, SC 29372 with funeral services following at 2:00 PM, conducted by The Rev. Norman L. Band. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens
