Mr. Terry Baker Dean, 79, passed away on December 24, 2016 , at Coosa Valley Medical Center. Funeral service for Mr. Dean will be on today, December 28, 2016 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Judy Dean; sons, Stephen (Karen) Dean, J. Todd (Cecelia) Dean; grandchildren, Lauren Dean, Olivia Dean and Emma Dean; sisters, Faye (Andrew) McConatha, Betty Dean. Mr. Dean attended Sycamore school and graduated from B.B Comer High School. He played the trumpet in the band. He was a student in the first class at Alex City Junior College and was a member of the first Student Government there. He achieved Eagle Scout standing, and later assisted with a Boy Scout Troop in Sycamore. He loved to sing and play the trumpet, and volunteered these talents to the local nursing facilities until 2012, when he became unable to do so. He was a former Minister of Music at Bon Air Baptist Church from 1989 through 2011. He worked with his sister and brother-in-law at Andy's Snack Bar for many years, and then in the vending machine business. He loved Jesus, his ministry work, and his family.
