David Garrison Franks, Jr., 72, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at his home in Florence, MS.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 1:30 until the 3:00 p.m. Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS.


Mr. Franks was born in Red Bay, AL to

David Franks, Sr. and Agnes Franks.



He has called Florence home for the past 19 years, moving here from Fulton, MS.

He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and the Minister of Music. He worked for Benchmark Construction for 20 years before his retirement in 2017. David loved God, his family, his church family, his many very special friends and golf.

He enjoyed being outside, whether that was hunting, fishing, or coaching little league football and softball.

He served as a substitute teacher at Itawamba Vocational Center and in his younger years, he loved Drag Racing.


David is preceded in death by

his parents;

his brothers,

E. Junior Bolding,
Ed Bolding,
Tulon Franks,
Bud Franks,
Burl Franks and
Eldon Franks;

and

by his sister, Mavis Prelog.



He is survived by

his wife, Rozella Franks of Florence, MS;

daughter, Rozana (David) Kittrell of Stateline, MS;

granddaughters, Annie and Atleigh Kittrell;

sisters, Betty Moody of Mantachie, MS and Bobbie Sue Mills of Zion, IL; and a

special friend of the family, Shauntae Parker.
