Linda was the second of six children, and the second daughter, born to Richard L. and Helen A. (Koberstein) Laberdee. Her childhood home was at 1513 Mott Avenue in East Toledo and she graduated from Sacred Heart Elementary and Whitney Vocational High Schools. She also graduated with honors from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Science degree, with primary emphasis in Public Service Administration


Linda worked for almost 31 years for the City of Toledo, with most of those years in the Human Resources Department. Following retirement from her Staff Personnel Analyst position in 1997, she worked for 8 years in the Human Resources Dept. of Mercy St. Charles Hospital and then 4 years in its Sleep Disorders Center, retiring again in 2009.


Linda had an active life and many interests including genealogy, extensive travel, theater, world and local history, national politics, reading, camping, watching OSU and her grandchildren's sporting and school events, creating greeting cards, and most of all, spending time with her much-loved children, grandchildren, and other family members and friends.


Linda was a member of the Auxiliaries of Mercy St. Charles Hospital and the V.F.W., the Oregon-Jerusalem Historical Society, and the Oregon and East Toledo Senior Centers. She was a former volunteer for several years at St. Louis Helping Hands, an organization that provides meals and clothing to the poor.


Linda also spent several years conducting research and writing a genealogy that includes many historical facts on the Labadie/ Labardee / Laberdee/ Laberdie/Laberdy family between the years 1702-1992. Her work is on file with the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library and the Monroe County (MI) and Detroit Historical Societies.


Linda is survived by sons, Larry (Lisa) and Randy (Stephanie) Grant, four grandaughters and two step-grandsons, whom she loved as her own; siblings: Jeanne (Chuck) Jaco, Jerry (Lisa) Laberdee and Becky (Mike) Stevenson; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Charlene Laberdee Gyurko; brother, Richard J. Laberdee; and nephew, Matt Stevenson.


A funeral service was conducted at _____ a.m. on Saturday, __________, 20__, at Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH.


It was Linda's wish to be cremated and her cremains were interred in St. Ignatius Cemetery in Oregon, Ohio.
