Jack worked for many years at Curtis Lumber Co. in Ballston Spa, retiring as a
construction manager.
He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War, and earned a Bronze Star Medal for heroism on the battle field along with 3 Bronze Service Stars. Jack was a member of the Korean War Veterans. Association as well as the Saratoga National Cemetery Honor Guard Association.
He enjoyed woodworking and wood carving and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Agnes Downing of Ballston Spa; his
daughters, Deann Downing (Cathy Fiore) and Darlene Walker (John Gardner) all of
Ballston Spa; his granddaughter, Ashley Walker (Matt Sherman) of Ballston Spa;
his sister, Doris Wade of Ballston Spa; several nieces and nephews and his special friends Dan and Rose Nelson, and Dave Seymour.
Funeral services with be private at the convenience of the family.
