Age 65, a lifelong Joliet resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Michael enjoyed reading, target practice, computers, and attending car shows. He stayed active by taking long walks, bike rides, kayaking and in his younger days, taught Marshall Arts and American Self Defense. His most cherished days were spent with his grandson, Jackson, taking him for walks and to the park.
Michael is survived by his wife, Becky A. (nee Daily) McGowan; son, Jeremiah J. (Lisa Wadsworth) McGowan; daughter, Stephanie A. (Antonio) Martinez; grandson, Jackson J. McGowan; brother, Patrick (Marilyn) McGowan; sisters, Susan (John) Rockett and Sarah (Marty) Enz; and brother-in-law, Tom Warner. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded by his parents, William D. and Evelyn R. (nee Adelmann) McGowan; and sister, Deborah Warner.
