Phyllis Elinor Talbert, age 91, of Plantation, Florida, died Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Covenant Village Care Center, Plantation. Born December 30, 1924 in New Windsor, she was the daughter of the late Harold Wesley Sauble and Lillian G. Bostian Sauble .She was the wife of Samuel Clinton Talbert who died in January 2015. Mrs.Talbert was a 1941 graduate of New Windsor High School where she sang in school musicals .In early years she was a Girl Scout leader for her daughter’s troop and was employed in the dress department of Hecht Co., Silver Spring, for many years. After moving to Florida she volunteered at the local level with the Gray Ladies of the American Red Cross. Phyllis was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed sewing, playing cards ,cooking, baking ,and gardening. She was a member of Plantation Baptist Church. Surviving are daughter , C.Joan Howell of Guntersville, AL; 2 grandsons, Eric Long and wife Jeri and Wesley Long and wife Jordana, all of Guntersville and 5 great- grandchildren, Caitlin, Jackson, Maly Kate, Mac and Mary Millicent Long. She was predeceased by a brother, Harold B. Sauble. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday,May 12 at HartzlerFuneral Home, 310 Church St., New Windsor, with Rev.Anne Durboraw, pastor of St. Luke’s (Winters) Lutheran Church, New Windsor, officiating.I nterment will follow in Winters Cemetery.
