Ralph G. Bryant, 80, a resident of Calumet, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, as a result of a short illness.


He was born on October 12, 1936, in Calumet, to the late Lucille and Irving Bryant.


He was a 1954 Calumet High School graduate. While attending school, he was a member of the Calumet varsity football, basketball and track teams.


In 1955, Mr. Bryant moved to Detroit, where he worked for the De Soto Automobile Company, Steel Products Corporation, J.L. Hudson Company and the Square D Electric Company.


In 1958, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served with this organization until his retirement in 1977. He retired with the rank of chief petty officer.


Upon his retirement from the Navy, he returned to the Copper Country and became an avid outdoorsman in the local area.


He was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl, Bruce and Donald.


He is survived by his brother, Robert of Calumet, two nephews; a niece and several cousins.


At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or funeral.


Burial will take place in the Lake View Cemetery.
