Peggy Waller Harper, 85 of Kinston, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Kitty Askins Hospice in Goldsboro, NC.
She was born on April 9, 1932, in Goldsboro, NC to the late Harry Tuttle Waller and Lottie Lucille Waller.
She was a member of Woodington United Methodist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert F. Waller and Harry T. Waller Jr. (Tut), son David Michael Conner (Mike), daughter Sheila J. Harper, and granddaughter Melissa A. Jones.
Peggy was a kind compassionate and loving person and this was evident in her 42 year career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Peggy worked in hospitals in Florida, California, and finally Lenoir Memorial Hospital. She was deeply devoted to her friends and family.
Survivors include, daughter Shearon H. Garcia and husband Bobby, sons, Jay Daniel Conner Jr (Danny) and wife Jenni, and Oscar “Doc” Harper all of Kinston. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Peggy is also survived by one sister, Betty Waller Bumgarner of New Mexico.
Services will be held at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, with the Reverend Jimmy Miller officiating, on Wednesday March 7, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. with visitation immediately following and at other times, her home and her son Danny’s home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lenoir County SPCA, PO Box 1481, Kinston, NC 28503.
