Kathryn "Kay" Greene
February 21st, 1917 - March 5th, 2018
Kathryn "Kay" Greene, age 101 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, March 5, 2018. Up until entering Hospice two weeks ago, Kay was able to live in her own home. Kay was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 21, 1917 to Arthur and Nell (nee Weaver) Watson. Kay attended school and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1934. Kay was married on April 12, 1941, to Ralph Edward Greene, at Lindenwald Methodist Church on Fairview Avenue. Ralph preceded her in death on March 5, 2011, they were married almost 70 years. During WWII, she worked for the US Army in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada. Kay worked for 35 years for Champion Papers, retiring in 1980 from the Knightsbridge Facility as Personnel Administrator. After retirement, Kay started taking watercolor lessons from Vola Lee and continued for over 25 years. Kay became an accomplished watercolor artist, and had an art show at the Fitton Center in conjunction with her 100th birthday celebration, and was still painting at 100 years of age. Kay volunteered at Berkeley Square for many years.

Kay is survived by her children, Steve (Richard Nelson) Greene and Jeff (Colleen) Greene; her grandchildren, Katie (Lyndon Ramrattan) Greene and Ryan (Hanna Halvorson) Greene; her great-grandsons, Ravi and Kai; her sister, Barbara Field; and nieces and nephews, Pat Durbin, Michele Zerr, Cynthia Blythe, Greg Field, and Doug Field. Kay was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Greene; and her sister, Bea Zerr.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one’s choice. The family would like to thank Pam Philpot and the Mays family, Marvin Brower, Rose and Don Weik, Rodney Randall, Butch and Donna Varner, Debbie and Tom Alf, and Pat and Dick Durbin for their support over the years.
