Norma DeRose, 92, of Princeton passed away March 3, 2018, in Aperion Care, Princeton.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Princeton.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. today in the memorial home.
Norma was born April 3, 1925, in Princeton to Clyde and Mable (Trimmer) Kitterman. She married Forrest DeRose on June 8, 1947, at Hampshire Colony Church in Princeton. She attended Princeton High School.
She was employed by the Bureau County Zoning Office. She had a real estate license however was mostly a homemaker. Norma was a previous member of the American Legion and Princeton Moose Lodge, she was a longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross, Illinois Veterans Home, VFW, and Princeton Closet ReSale Shop. She was an election judge for Bureau County. She enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, Bingo, and traveling with family.
She is survived by four children, Howard (Patricia) DeRose of Ridgedale, Mo., Janet (Dale) Sobkowiak of Peru, Dale DeRose of Princeton and Marilynn (Ashley) Piver of Carolina Beach, N.C., 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband on May 31, 2007; parents; one son in infancy, Harold; and four sisters and three brothers.
