Karen Erickson, of Dawson, died on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Mayo Clinic- St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester at the age of 76.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2:00PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson with Pastor Kendall Stelter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 5-7 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Karen Ann (Greseth) Erickson was born February 02, 1942 in Dawson MN at the Dawson Hospital the daughter of Elmer and Olga (Arneson) Greseth. She graduated from Dawson High School in 1960. Karen was very active in FHA, choir, and GAA. After school Karen lived in Minot and Jamestown ND before moving to Willmar where Karen worked at Knegge plumbing and heating as a secretary and at Molenars as a plastic molder in the early 70’s.

Karen later met up with Walter Tom Erickson and was united in marriage in 1977. Both Tom and Karen moved back to Dawson as she became a house wife on the farm outside of Dawson before moving to town in 1985. Karen later worked for the city of Dawson, at the Dawson skating rink, and driving the Heartland Express bus service.

Karen enjoyed attending her grandkids’ sporting events, going to the casino, BINGO, quilting, marbles, cards and dice. She was also a huge Minnesota Twins fan. She enjoyed watching Price is Right, Jeopardy, Days of our Lives, and the Olympics.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; three children: Craig (Michelle) Erickson of Kasota, MN, Steve (Wendy) Trandahl of North Mankato, MN, Adam (Vicky) Erickson of Nicollet, MN; two step-children: Kay Erickson of Montevideo, MN and Bruce (Vonnie) Erickson of Montevideo, MN; seven grandchildren: Joseph, Christopher, Jason, Abby, Hunter, Landyn, Bradey, and 8 step-grandchildren: Casandra, Isaac, Joshua, Natasha, Tylor, Samantha, Brett, Nicole; six great-grandchildren; her brother, Oryln (Linda) Greseth of Alexandria, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Elmer and Olga Greseth; her sister, Elaine; and brothers, Gailen and Eugene Greseth.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Karen’s name to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
