Services for Stanley Dwayne Bennett, 87, will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Nathan Lorick officiating at 10:00 am. Stanley passed away on December 27, 2017 at his home in Martin’s Mill, TX. He was born in Van Zandt County, TX on September 19, 1930 to Elizabeth Roberts Bennett and Curtis Bennett. He was a Christian by faith and a member of Martin’s Mill Baptist Church. He was a paint contractor with his own business for over 50 years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954. He was a perfectionist with a dry sense of humor who spent leisure time in a deer stand doing what he loved the most…..looking for the next big buck. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Cathy, and his grandson, Clayton Cameron. Stanley is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Mewbourn Bennett of 62 years. Five of his children: daughter, Cindy Terrell and husband Macy; daughter, Leslie Lee and husband Jay; daughter, Gina Carpenter and husband Paul; son, David Bennett and wife Theresa;, and son Justin Bennett and wife Tonja. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Candace, Heather, Ashlie, Gavin, Lindsy, Tara, Daina, Dustin, Hunter, Brennan, Hagen, Jocie, and Jessica, as well as 26 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. He is survived by 8 siblings: Bobby Bennett and wife Ruby of Ben Wheeler; Sister, Elita Burns and husband Joe Bob of Canton; Brother Gale Bennett and wife Sue of Van; Brother Rob Bennett and wife Sharon of Wills Point; Brother Don Bennett and wife Kate of Woodstock, IL; Brother Mike Bennett of Canton; Sister Linda Morse and husband John of Tyler; and brother Steve Bennett and wife Sherry of Tyler; and an abundance of nephews and nieces. The Bennett family would like to extend a special thanks to Canton Oaks, Home Health, Hospice of East Texas, all therapists, The Bridge Fellowship, and Stanley's special angel, Katherine for her love and care these past few months.
