Lawrence Dwain Clark, age 82, of Richmond, died Sunday, March 4, 2018.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, at Richmond Christian Chapel.Burial will follow another service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, at Soldier Valley Cemetery, near Pisgah, Iowa.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.

Memorials may be made to Richmond Christian Chapel, the Nebraska Christian College or the West Central Christian Service Camp.

Lawrence D. Clark, 82, of Richmond, Missouri went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond, Missouri.

He was the sixth son born to Lucian Francis Clark and Elva Alvina (Reeves) Clark. Born on a farm near Orson in the Loess Hills of Iowa, Lawrence loved farming and the joy of working with his hands. He graduated from the Pisgah High School in 1953, and proudly served his country in the Iowa Army National Guard for a number of years. He married a farm girl, Yvonne Irene Wallis of Mondamin, Iowa on December 8, 1957, and together they enjoyed a full and happy life for sixty years. They moved to Ray County, Missouri where Lawrence farmed, worked as a carpenter and for the Farmers Home Administration for 26 years. Lawrence loved the Lord and worked tirelessly to spread the gospel of Christ and fulfill the Great Commission. He was a charter member of the Richmond Christian Chapel and served as an elder and Sunday school teacher. In addition Lawrence worked to provide support to the West Central Christian Service Camp, Show Me Christian Youth Home, Nebraska Christian College and numerous Christian missionaries. The family suggests memorial contributions to these ministries.

Survivors include; his wife, Yvonne of Richmond, Missouri; one son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Kris Clark of Omaha, NE; one daughter, Paula Clark of Richmond; one brother, LeRoy Clark of Logan, IA; four grandchildren, Kimberly Clark, Jon Archer (Melanie), Ashley Clark and Danielle Clark; four great-grandchildren, Alexis, Hunter, Aspen and Paisley; and many nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, Lawrence is preceded in death by four brothers, Francis, Velman, Delmar and Herbert Clark and one sister Eleanor Peterson.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Richmond Christian Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Lunch will be served immediately after the service at the church in Richmond for all attending. Arrangements in Missouri are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
