Elmer R. Robinson, age 89 of Thompson, died on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at his home with his wife Margaret by his side.

Elmer Roy Robinson, son of Andrew and Julia (Knudson) Robinson was born on the family farm near St. Thomas, ND on January 17, 1929. He was reared and educated in the area. In 1954 he moved with his brother to the Thompson area and began farming. On June 16, 1960 he was married to Margaret Edwards Burger in Omaha, NE. Elmer farmed near Thompson for many years until retirement. After retirement they wintered in Texas for 17 years.

He enjoyed playing cards, especially Pinochle, snow-mobiling, bowling, deer hunting, dancing and Friday night races to cheer on his grandsons. Elmer was a Director for the Thompson Farmers Oil Co. and a Community Committeeman for the Grand Forks FSA.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Judy Corneillie, son Mike Burger; granddaughter Janelle Lorenzen, grandson Jeff Lorenzen; brothers, Miller Robinson, Jim Robinson and Marvin Robinson and a sister, Ruth Kliniske.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St Matthews Lutheran Church in Thompson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
