Frederick "Rick" Phillips, age 56, of Roanoke County, Va., went to be with his Mother and his brothers in Heaven on March 3, 2018.
He was born November 26, 1961 in Surry County, North Carolina but was a long time resident of Roanoke County. He graduated from William Byrd High School in 1982 and served in the United States Army.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Jack Henry Phillips; brother, Timothy "Ray" Phillips; nephew, William "Billy Ray" Phillips; brother, Jack Randall Phillips; and mother, Zena Brummett Phillips.
He is survived by his sister, Rebecca "Becky" Phillips Reed; nieces, Christy Dawn Phillips and wife, Sarah E Phillips, Shelly Irene Phillips, Amber Renee Haywood; four great-nieces, Katelin Taylor, Kendra Taylor, Madison Taylor, Charlotte "DD" Phillips; two great-nephews, Mason Parker Phillips & Oddain Phillips; and his best friend, James "Jimmy" Clemmer.
A visitation will held from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Oakey’s Roanoke Chapel.
