John Taylor Kane, Jr., was born on November 21, 1926 in Stowell, Texas and went home peacefully into the arms of Jesus on November 16, 2021 in Austin, Texas.

John was a lifelong resident of High Island, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father John Taylor Kane Sr., mother Irene Kane, wife Edith Kane, sisters Annabelle Nicar, Gloria Kersh, Rosa Lee Stone, brother Donald T. Kane and grandson John D. Kane.

John graduated from High Island High School and was a WW2 Army veteran. He loved to hunt and fish. He worked for John W. Mecom Oil Company and Houston Oil Producing Enterprises as a production supervisor for over 40 years. John was always a Texan and enjoyed his horses and cattle, collecting arrow heads, and working in his workshop. He was a true Texas gentleman to the very end, always wearing his cowboy hat and belt.

John lived a long full life and was strong, considerate and always kind. John Taylor Kane was a good man by anyone's measure, strong in his faith, and deserves to hear the words "well done good and faithful servant". He helped build and attend the Presbyterian Church in High Island. He volunteered as an ambulance driver for many years. He was active in the High Island School system and served on the school board serval times.

John was the most kind and gentle man, that loved generously and was loved dearly and cherished by his family and friends.

A gathering of Mr. Kane's family and friends will begin at 12:00p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Broussard's, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His interment will follow at High Island Cemetery, High Island
